Fall is the Perfect Time to Sail in San Diego

San Diego is renowned for its endless summer vibe, but those who’ve sailed along its pristine coastline know that the city’s fall season offers something special. While most of the country begins to feel the chill of autumn, San Diego continues to provide ideal weather, making it the perfect time to experience a sailing charter in San Diego. Whether you’re a local looking for a unique way to enjoy the season, a visitor wanting to explore the water, or a business considering corporate sailing in San Diego for a team-building event, there’s something magical about being out on the water in the fall. Why Fall is the Perfect Time to Sail in San Diego   As the summer crowds begin to thin, sailing in the fall in San Diego becomes a peaceful and picturesque experience. The mild temperatures during the day, combined with gentle breezes and stunning sunsets, make this the prime season for an unforgettable sailing adventure. During fall, sailing in San Diego feels like a hidden gem that only the locals know about. The average temperature hovers between 65°F and 75°F, making it warm enough to enjoy the sunshine but cool enough to appreciate a fresh ocean breeze. Unlike other coastal regions where the fall season brings colder temperatures and rougher seas, San Diego remains calm and welcoming to sailors of all experience levels. The Beauty of San Diego from the Water One of the best aspects of sailing in San Diego is the breathtaking view of the city from the water. Whether you’re near the downtown skyline or cruising by the cliffs of Point Loma, the city’s beauty is unrivaled. The golden hues of the setting sun reflect off the Pacific Ocean, while the gentle sway of your sailboat creates a serene ambiance that feels far removed from the hustle and bustle on land. Fall adds a special touch to this landscape. The skies tend to be clearer, with fewer clouds, making the colors of the sunset even more vibrant. Watching the sunset over the Pacific, with the horizon stretched out before you, is a transformative experience. The mild fall temperatures make it easy to sit back, relax, and soak in the views of Coronado, La Jolla, and Mission Bay, all while being surrounded by the cool, soothing waters of the Pacific. Sailing past landmarks like the Coronado Bridge or cruising around the harbor offers an unmatched vantage point for taking in the city’s architecture and natural beauty. From sea lions lounging on buoys to flocks of seabirds dotting the sky, there’s a calm rhythm to sailing in San Diego during the fall that’s both relaxing and invigorating. Sailing Charters for All Occasions A sailing charter in San Diego is a great way to enjoy this coastal gem. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, an adventurous family outing, or an opportunity to bond with your colleagues, there’s a wide range of sailing options available. Imagine sipping wine, feeling the cool breeze on your face, and watching the horizon turn into a painting of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dips below the ocean’s edge. Whale Watching begins January 24th

Whale watching season is upon us! Our first 2015 public Whale Watching sail was January 24th. We will continue to offer our saturday whale watching cruises through March 28th. These are always popular cruises, so don’t hesitate, call Carole today at 858-222-9479 to book your San Diego Whale Watching cruise on our 1938 all wooden sail yacht JADA. We always schedule our Whale Watching for the height of the season so we are most likely to spot whales. Last season we spotted whales on every trip but one, and on that one we saw a great  pod of dolphins. We Often See More Than Whales While we are always on the hunt for Grey Whales,  we often see other types of sea life including sea lions, sea gulls, and dolphins. Many people say that they enjoy the dolphins every bit as much or more than the whales. The dolphins are always playfully with lots of jumping out of the water and surfing along in our bow wake. A Few Things To Know About Our Whale WatchingCruises: The trips usually last about 4 hours. As a sailing vessel we are very stable even in the ocean swells. The whales often travel in groups of 2 or 3. While maintaining a safe distance, we get close enough that you can see the whales and dolphins clearly. In addition to great food, we also serve coffee, tea and hot cocoa. Although it’s almost always comfortable, you should bring clothing layers, including a jacket. Our Captain and crew love to share interesting facts about the whales and other sea life. For more information about whale watching trips and purchasing tickets go to our main website www.sailjada.com We plan to go every Saturday during the season. Private groups can go whale watching too throughout the week Come out and enjoy this great adventure!

Testimonial: Best Sailing Charter In San Diego

I went aboard the JADA this last Monday for a sailboat charter just before sunset. Knowing that the JADA was the only classic all-wooden yacht available for charter in San Diego, I envisioned being taken back to how it would’ve been to sail on a sailboat in the 1940’s. For being over 70 years old, JADA was in great shape. The crew were all nice and the captain was very informative on the San Diego bay and its history. The JADA has to be one of the best private yacht charters around. I highly recommend trying this! And the best part of all is that you don’t have to do anything on the JADA but eat and drink! All kinds of snacks and beverages are brought to you by the crew so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. If you like to be catered to this is definitely the right place. The JADA has to be one of the best private yacht charters around. I highly recommend JADA for anyone who is wishing to sail San Diego. The view of San Diego aboard the JADA is unreal. – Oscar, SD

San Diego Bay Sailing Experience

Here’s a sequential description of what you’ll see on a charter with us. After we leave the dock we raise sails as we motor out of the marina basin. Once the sails are up, we turn off the motor and glide smoothly over the water on our way to the first few sites of interest. First we cruise by the largest bait barges on the west coast where there are always lots of sea lions basking in the sun, along with sea birds including cormorants and gulls. Right after that we sail past the US Navy submarine base and see one or more submarines and sometimes the dolphin training vessels. If we’re real lucky we’ll see some dolphins being trained. Next we turn down the bay and go past any number of military ships (depending upon which ones are in port). Often we see aircraft carriers and destroyers. We’ll cruise across the bay with a great view of the landmark Coronado bridge on our way over to the aircraft carrier Midway, which is now a museum with over a dozen vintage aircraft parked on the deck. Right next to that is the historic maritime waterfront with the San Diego Maritime Museum and a flotilla of historic and famous vessels, including the Surprise from the movie Master and Commander. We are sure to point out all of these sites to guests and share points of interest. *Please note that depending upon wind direction and speed that our route and therefore the sights will vary.
