Sailing Charters in San Diego

JADA is not a catamaran. She is a 1938 classic 65-foot sailing yawl — a single-hull monohull built in Stockton and converted to a yawl rig in 1955. We say this up front because we don't want to waste anyone's time if a catamaran is genuinely what you need.

That said, most San Diego visitors searching for a catamaran charter are really looking for three things: a private group experience, a sail under canvas (not a power boat), and a USCG-licensed captain. JADA delivers all three, plus an 88-year history that no fiberglass cat on the bay can match.

The differences worth knowing: a catamaran is more stable at anchor (less roll), JADA is more graceful under sail (real heel, real classic-yacht feel). A catamaran offers more sunbathing platform; JADA offers covered cockpit seating, an open foredeck, and the kind of teak-and-brass interior that doesn't exist on modern vessels. For private events with a wow-factor, JADA wins almost every time.

Every charter aboard JADA is private — your group only, the entire vessel — with a USCG-licensed captain. Rates start at $400/hour with a three-hour minimum. Up to 28 guests.
