Sail JADA captains are licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard. They have decades of experience handling large sailing vessels, and decades of sailing specifically in and around the San Diego area.
They know the bay's tides, its afternoon thermal winds, its weather patterns, and its history. They know where the dolphins tend to run, and where the setting sun looks most spectacular from the water. And they bring all of that knowledge to every charter.
Our captains welcome any questions about sailing, marine life, San Diego's history, or JADA herself. Many guests find the captains to be one of the highlights of their time aboard — not just because they handle the boat beautifully, but because they genuinely love sharing what they know.
Your Safety is the Priority
JADA is a USCG-inspected vessel, and all voyages are conducted in strict accordance with U.S. Coast Guard safety regulations. Safety briefings are provided before every departure, and life jackets are available for all passengers. Our captains carry current USCG licenses with appropriate tonnage and passenger endorsements.
