JADA was launched on June 5, 1938 — built in Stockton, California, and put into the water at the beginning of a world that was about to change completely. She has been sailing ever since. One night a year, she asks you to celebrate her. Champagne, oysters, live music, 28 people on the water.

Every mother aboard JADA does the same thing within the first few minutes. She stops. Whatever she was holding onto — the week, the worry, the long list of things that needed doing — she sets it down. Her shoulders drop. She looks out at the water and she is, for the first time in a while, just here.
