JADA is a 65-foot, two-masted wooden yawl built in 1938 — the same year Errol Flynn was Hollywood's biggest star. She's carried Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, John Wayne, and Spencer Tracy. How close does JADA get to the Rady Shell?
JADA anchors near Embarcadero Marina Park North, within open-bay earshot of the stage. The sound carries naturally across the water — no amplification needed, no enclosed walls muffling it. The listening experience is different from inside the venue: more open, more ambient, more memorable.
Do I need a ticket to the Rady Shell show?
No. JADA sails on San Diego Bay — public water. You're boarding a private charter yacht, not attending the venue. The music reaches the boat. No Rady Shell ticket required.
What's included?
Private charter of JADA for your group (up to 28). Experienced crew. Harbor Island boarding at 1380 Harbor Island Drive. BYOB — bring your own food and drinks. Ice and cooler space available. The yacht handles the rest.
What if I'm not particularly interested in the concert — I just want to sail?
That's the right answer. Most of JADA's regulars would say the same thing. The concert is the backdrop — JADA is the destination. We offer private sailing charters on San Diego Bay any evening of the year, with or without a show playing at the Shell. Call us.
Can I book the whole boat for my group?
Yes — and that's how most people book concert nights. Full-boat buyout for up to 28 guests. We also accommodate smaller groups who don't need the whole boat; contact us for pricing. Corporate groups, milestone birthdays, and client entertainment are common uses.
